August 30-Sept 4

Dear Parents,
We have had the best time learning all about apples this last week. Thanks to Alena's mom who came in and read with our class. Also, thanks to Stratton's mom who came and helped with our Centers last Friday. She helped the students fingerpaint Self Portriats of themselves. We have quite the artists in our class! I will post those pictures outside our classroom so you can drop by and see them. They are pretty cute! We also made applesauce during our Centers. It was SO good! Thanks for all of you who donated apples to help with that.

We loved learning about our special people this week Reese and Anikah. They did a great job. We will be hearing from Jeremiah this week and look forward learning about him.

This week we will continue learning about apples, study the letter "g", review the letters "a" and "m", and practice writing our names perfectly. On Friday we will end our apple unit by watching the movie "Johnny Appleseed".

Almost everyone got 100% on our spelling test last week! Thank you for all your help at home, it shows. Continue reading and studying spelling words for homework. Also work with your child on the different sounds of "g".
