January 26-30

We had a great week last week. On Tuesday we watched as Barack Obama was sworn in as our new President and learned all about him.
On Wednesday it was our 100th day of school. First we counted 100 fruit loops.

Then we made Fruit Loop necklaces.

Then we went out with the Kindergartners and watched as they released 100 balloons.

We had a great day!

This week we will be reading a story called "The Flower Garden". Our spelling words all have the short o sound, as in hop.

I have been so happy with the results of our spelling tests. The students are starting to understand how to take tests, and their handwriting is greatly improving.
Our special person this week is Rylee.
Don't forget early release this Friday.
Have a great week

Our special person this week will be Cesar. We look forward to hearing from you Cesar.
Thanks for all you do!

January 12-16

This week we will be reading a book about sharing, called “The Doorbell Rang”. This story is about sharing cookies with friends. Please have your child bring something to share with a friend on Tuesday. We don’t want them to bring an item, but rather something non-tangible, like a story, or a joke, or a service.
We will be studying for our first spelling tests this week, so please help your children study their words.
Spelling Words:

Our special person this week will be Brodey. Can’t wait to hear from you Brodey.
Thanks for all you do!
