Hi Everyone,
Hope you all had a very nice and relaxing Spring Break. I sure missed my kids!
This week we are reading “If the Dinosaurs Came Back” which will be emphasizing the long “e” sound as in “we”. Our spelling words will do the same.
We
Need
Be
Tree
See
Me
And our challenge words are
Teeth
Maybe
I love to see the students’ great spelling scores on Friday, and your help with their study of these words is greatly appreciated.
We sent home a note earlier requesting empty baby food bottles. We are doing a special art project with these, so if any of you have some lying around and would like to donate them to us we would sure appreciate it!
It’s good to be back. We only have 8 short weeks of school left, can you believe it! We will be cherishing every minute we have left with your children!

Hi Everyone,
We had such a great turn out for our music program last Friday. It is nice to see how supportive this community is. The students were sure excited, and I think they did amazing!
This is a big week also. Don’t forget Parent Teacher Conferences for those of you who have them scheduled. I am looking forward to visiting with you about your wonderful children.
Also, don’t forget to wear green for St. Patrick's day; and don't forget about our Early Releases this Wednesday and Friday; and then Spring Break all next week. Hope you all have fun plans!
We are reading “If You Give A Moose A Muffin” this week, one of my personal favorites. Our spelling words this week emphasize the long “o” sound. I will post them later.
I will also post pictures of our program when I download them.
Thanks again for all you do.

Mrs. Hamblin

March 9-13

Hi Everyone,
Last week we started a unit on the Human Body and the students were so interested in knowing how their bodies worked. We learned about our bones, lungs and heart. We will continue our study this week learning all about the skin, germs, and body systems.
We had fun learning about Dr. Seuss and eating our Green Eggs and Ham. It was delicious!
Our story this week was written by Mercer Mayer and is called "There's an Alligator Under My Bed". Spelling words will be emphasizing the long "i" sound:
hide
mine
time
like
five
bike
and our challenge words are:
smile
write
Please help your students study these words each night. The words are getting harder so extra study at night will be a big help for them.
I have scheduled Parent Teacher Conferences starting Tuesday with some of you. Please let me know if you have not received a note concerning this and would like to meet with me.
Don't forget our Music Performance this Friday at 1:30. The children have been working very hard and are excited to perform for you. If you can't make it to the Friday performance, they will be practicing in front of the whole school on Thursday at 9:00 AM.
Thanks for all your support!
Mrs. Hamblin

Dear Parents,
Monday is Dr. Seuss’ Birthday, so we will do everything Seuss. We will read Dr. Seuss Stories, eat Green Eggs and Ham (mmmmmm), make Horton Ears, and lots of other fun, exciting activities.
This week our story is called “EEK! There’s a Mouse in the House”, and our spelling words will be emphasizing the long a sound as in cake. Spelling words are:
Cake
Make
Came
Take
Late
Name
With our challenge words being
Chase and
Place
When you help your students study these words each night I can really tell when they take their spelling test on Friday’s.
Our special person this week will be Jackson.
Thank you for everything you do.
Mrs. Hamblin
